Onomeya is the cosmos in which classical and electronic music meet spirituality. Profound meditative experiences expressed in ambient electronic soundscapes, acoustic cello layers and crystal singing bowls.
A satsang-like format of creating music where he sits in meditation and awaits music to arise from silence.
"A gentle way of listening. A deep reset for the mind."
Born in 1994 in Elda, Spain, Alfredo Ferre Martínez (Onomeya) began playing cello at the age of seven.
Raised by a pianist mom and a textil business father, he grew up surrounded by music from a very early age.
He trained as a cellist in his city and later pursued his studies at Escuela Reina Sofia in Madrid,
where he received the teachings of Natalia Shakhovskaia and Ivan Monighetti during five intenssive years.
Currently, he has settled in Basel, Switzerland, after finishing his Master degree and post-graduate studies
at Musik Akademie Basel.

Onomeya is profound and reflective. He sits and observes, and he enjoys finding the root source of things.
A meditation practicioner since eight years, he shares his insights and inner states of presence with music.

In 2018 he began to take more serious his composition path and found his way to electronic music and sound healing. By then, he had received numerous international cello prizes, including the VI International A.Janigro cello competition in Zagreb, the J.Nicholas Firmenich cello prize at Verbier Festival and the Habitzel Kiefer prize in Bern.
During those years he became familiar with the big stages, performing as a soloist at Auditorio Nacional de Música de Madrid, KKL Luzern, V.Lisinsky Hall in Zagreb, La Fenice Theater in Venice, or the Shostakovich Hall in St.Petersbourg, both in cello and piano recitals and solo with orchestra. Some of these orchestras include the Croatian Radio Symphony, Malaga Philarmonic, Freixenet Chamber Orchestra, Zagreb Soloists, Luneburg Bachorchester or Varazdin Chamber Orchestra.

This stage presence allowed him to build a long-lasting connection with the public, progressively developing a greater sense of calm and transparency on the stage. Meditation played a crutial role in that integration process, gradually stablishing himself in a more honest music making. That stage presence led him to be invited to Festivals like Verbier Festival, Setembre Musical Montreux, Gstaad Festival, Paax GNP in Mexico or Wissembourg Festival.

A life turning point in his career was the materialization of an all time dream: to create his own music.
His first compositon, performed alongside his good cellist friend Mon-Puo at the homage of his former teacher N. Shakovskaia in 2018, represented the beggining of a creative journey that has expanded in all directions.

Onomeya's compositions began to take a modern-classic direction, interweaving classical music fundations with minimalism, cinematic electronics and Eastern meditative music. Self-described as "a quite visual person", he composed the soundtrack for the short films "Pequeña Soledad" and "La miel", as well as the production "La magia de las señales" and also collaborated regularly with the firma Recover for their corporate videos.
In 2023, he re-arranged and recorded together with violinist Eoin Ducrot five songs for the Pop Star Cian Ducrot, as part of his nº1 UK Debut Album "Victory", which led them to join him on stage at COCO London in a sold out inspiring concert. That same year, he collaborated with MindValley University Estonia together with the pianist and Yoga Master Elena Mironov, which confirms Onomeya's approach of unifying Music and Spirituality. Since 2024, he has a trio with the swiss singer and guitarrist Vera-Anja and the Hungarian percussionist Boka Tummtukoté, blending Classical, World and Medicine Music in a very profound way.

Paralelly, Onomeya kept developing his connections to classical music, performing with inspiring musicians as Dmitry Smirnov, Alondra de la Parra, Mor Biron, Claire Wells or Edicson Ruiz. In 2023 he took part on the CD Recording of Pastoral 21', a project around Beethoven's symphony in collaboration with the composer Gabriel Prokofiev, supported by the UNLTD collective of Verbier Festival. That same year he made his recital debut together with the pianist Dominic Chamot at Sociedad de Conciertos de Alicante, in a sold out concert featuring both Brahms cello Sonatas, Lieder, and pieces by Alban Berg and Onomeya himself. Their first Album together, with the Brahms cello sonatas, was recorded that same year and released in January 2025.

Perhaps one of the most exciting projects that currently occupies his attention is The Goldberg Project, a musical experience around Bach's masterpiece, in which he captures the meditative soothing effect of this piece and combines it with crystal singing bowls and ambient electronics, in a journey to calm the restless minds. The project was succesfully launched at Verbier Festival in 2024, followed by performances at the 78th Setembre Musical Festival in Montreux and Theater im Hof in Germany. Onomeya's 2025 summer tour include performances of Goldberg Project at Verbier Festival, NUME Festival Hotel Balance Swiss and Theater im Hof in Kandern.
In the meantime, he is releasing a series of cello multi-track works in which he records in meditative states and nature connection, inviting us to stablish into stillness and presence.

Onomeya plays a cello presumibly built by Francesco Gofriller in Venice around 1730.
